Squirrels of the East Coast, Raise Up
I've been in Washington DC for the past couple of days ... the squirrels here are crazy. Definitely not lacking in food. In the tradition of diversity, DC is home to both black and white squirrels. I'm still searching for a black one to photograph, but I got some great shots of a white squirrel outside the capitol building. Pictures will be up soon. I'll keep you posted

Stop the violence! Stop it!
Ladies and gentelmen, let's take a lesson from our brave squirrel friend, and stand up for the rights of the squirrels on our campus.
I think we need some objectives before we can really draw interest. Here are my current proposals. Let me know what you think, and throw out some new ideas if you have any.
1. We must fight to minimize the loss of squirrel habitat on our campus. Baylor 2012 is cutting down trees, which provide both homes and sources of food for squirrels.
2. We should appeal for "squirrel crossing" signs to be posted on high-traffic areas of campus. I've seen far too many squirrels flattened by careless drivers.
3. Our organization should protest the homecoming bonfire. Squirrels seeking refuge in the maze of lumber become trapped, and are burned alive for that Good Old Baylor Line.
Squirrels are dying, people. I'm not going to sit on the sidelines anymore. This is war.
A New Chapter
As I discussed my interest in squirrel advocacy with a friend yesterday, the thought occured to me ... Why not start a squirrel-realted blog? I can think of no better way to spur discussion and renew/create interest in the Baylor chapter of the Albino Squirrel Preservation Society. So here goes.
